1) Wear clothes that fit. I know that seems obvious but I think we all have that one jacket or blazer we keep just in case and only try and wear it on special occasions. Instead where the blazer that feels good right now so you don’t feel self conscious in front of the camera. If you don’t feel good right from the start it’s you’ll never like your headshot!

2) Ladies - get the professional makeup done if you can! Preferably from a northern Iowa makeup artist who specializes in makeup for photoshoots. Typically one who works with a lot of brides or seniors knows exactly what the camera needs.

3) Work with the photographer who specializes in headshot photography. They understand angles and lighting to make the most of your shoot!
